Well, I’ve set up my blog to the amazement of my two college-aged kids! They are impressed that I even know what a blog is. I’m going to read some other participant’s blogs and hopefully figure out how to comment on a few. This is great!!

Week 1, Thing #2 Pointers from Lifelong Learners
I think the easiest of the lifelong learning habits for me is habit #2: taking responsibilty for your own learning. I know that if I want to learn something new or improve some skills that I already have, I have to take it upon myself to search for that class, book, website, etc. that will give me the knowledge I am looking for.
The hardest habit is #3: see problems as challenges. I tend to stress out over things that aren’t going smoothly or just how I had them planned. I am slowly learning to accept things as they are, to not get all worked up over them (especially those things that I have no control over), and to figure out the best way to solve or work around them. I find that if I look at a problem as something I can turn into a learning experience, I am much more calm about the whole situation.
Week 1, Thing #1 About this Program
I’ve been reading about Vermont’s 23 Things but really didn’t have the time to participate until now. I’m excited to start exploring all of the technologies that are being shown. I think it will be fun to learn some knew things and to use them with my students and other teachers.
